SEGA Announces Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Open Championship

In case you missed it, SEGA announced the VIRTUA FIGHTER Open Championship, the first official global tournament for the Virtua Fighter™ series held on Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.™. The VIRTUA FIGHTER Open Championship will hold a series of regional qualifiers, with the first preliminary round being held at COMBO BREAKER 2025 in Chicago, running from Friday May 23 to Sunday May 25.

Additional preliminary rounds will be held at a later date for Europe and Asia, with a Japan-specific round also planned. Players who win their regional preliminary rounds will have the opportunity to participate in the Grand Final Tournament, where the winner will receive a grand prize of $100,000.
